Objectives:
- Critically review existing literature on democratic values and their translation into higher education frameworks in Australia, Europe, and South Africa.
- Identify the key dimensions to be analysed across the five elements of the democratic roles of universities (WP3-WP6) and conduct cross-case comparisons to identify commonalities, differences, and trends.
- Present the resulting thematic synthesis and harvest the critical perspectives that emerge from the comparative analysis.
- Disseminate issues for future research and discuss the implications of the findings for theory, practice, and policy.
