Education in a hospitable university

Coordination: Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès

Objectives:
Review the state of the art by taking a critical perspective on universities as hospitable spaces of higher education & training, with forcibly displaced students as the main focus.

Conduct one participant observation of experiential learning for democracy at Deakin, and use it to design two pedagogical experiments focusing on innovative experiential learning and participatory ways of teaching and learning that will be transferred to 2 other partner academic institutions in Europe and South Africa.

Design and organise a workshop with other research WPs to share lessons learned from the case studies and collaboratively produce a playbook for designing a similar educational approach across the consortium.

Disseminate the newly designed participatory approaches to democratic education across and between all the consortium members.

Identify further areas of sustainable collaboration between the consortium partners to make them more hospitable to a diversity of people and worldviews through education, including lifelong learning.
